Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 1
33.5 hours per week (Term time plus 5 training days)
Salary Band 4 (£14,676 - £15,976 per annum)

Richard Coates is a wonderful place to work. If you enjoy working with children and are committed to ensuring high quality learning, this is an exciting and unique opportunity and we very much look forward to hearing from you. The school prides itself in the way in which it meets the needs of every child, allowing them to succeed and achieve, in keeping with our school motto, “Let Your Light Shine”. The ethos of the school is based around celebrating achievement and enabling children to achieve their full potential.

The school is currently undergoing a restructure from Middle to Primary School; the successful candidate will be joining the school at a time of exciting change. We are part of the newly formed Ponteland Pele Trust along
with the other Ponteland primary schools and Ponteland High School. Academy conversion is planned for the end of this academic year.

The pupils’ behaviour is exemplary (Ofsted 2013) and the staff are a dedicated team of professionals who work closely and supportively with each other. The school is a large middle school of 480 pupils located in Ponteland on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne and has excellent public transport links, yet it enjoys the
countryside benefits of being located within the picturesque county of rural Northumberland.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post as well as undertaking any training that is required for the role.

Further information about the school can be found on our website www.richardcoatesceprimary.co.uk
