An opportunity has arisen for a qualified, progressed social worker to work as part of a mental health social work team, providing services to individuals who experience mental illness and may have complex, multiple needs. This is a friendly and supportive team committed to person centred practice which helps promote independence, wellbeing and choice.

You will have a varied caseload that will include safeguarding work and involvement with service users and carers with complex needs. You will be required to complete assessments and care planning and work closely with mental health colleagues within a multi-disciplinary framework to deliver good quality care.

You must have a relevant Social Work qualification such as a Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or CSS, or equivalent, and HCPC registration. An Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification would be an advantage.

Professional support, supervision and appraisal will be provided by the Team Manager of the Community Mental Health Team. For an informal discussion, please contact Doreen Andrews or Penny Hardman, Team Managers, on 0191 277 2355.
