Full time as in accordance with the Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document.

Kenton School is at the cutting edge of modern education. With around 1900 students, we are one of the largest school in the North East. However despite our size we pride ourselves on retaining a family atmosphere and in ensuring that we cater for the needs of all our students, recognising their special gifts or talents.

Kenton is a school of which its community is rightly proud; we were rated ‘good’ at our 2012 Ofsted and we have made a significant impact in raising attainment, but we never rest on our laurels and are always looking to improve.

We are currently seeking an outstanding and inspiring Science teacher to join our team teaching across all key stages. Applications are welcome from all Science disciplines, however preference will be given to those able to effectively teach Biology across all key stages, including at A-Level.

You must possess a proven track record of effective training or teaching practice underpinned by a broad base of subject knowledge and the ability to apply a range of teaching and learning strategies. You must also possess excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage behaviour effectively. But more importantly you must be committed to our school ethos of ‘all different, all equal,’ instilling high expectations in all our students to enable them to achieve their potential regardless of the barriers they face.

In return we offer the opportunity to work in our fantastically resourced department in our purpose built PFI school building working within a supportive school committed to the development of all its’ students and staff.

Application forms and further details for all posts are available directly from our website at www.kenton.newcastle.sch.uk or by contacting us by telephone on 0191 214 2200 or by email at hr@kenton.newcastle.sch.uk

Closing date: 12noon on 8 February 2016

Kenton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school.
