Northumberland County Council is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work with children and young people with SLCN in schools/settings across North Northumberland.
The successful candidate will have experience of assessing and working with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, recognising the impact of this within an educational setting. As well as directly working with students, the therapist will provide training and support to staff and parents to develop their knowledge and understanding. They will be a strong team player, able to work closely with teachers and others as part of a multi-disciplinary team. They will also demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
The successful candidate will have a certificate to practise as a Speech and Language Therapist and be registered with the HCPC.
The post requires a willingness to travel, predominantly within North Northumberland but also within West, Central or South East Northumberland to enable service needs to be met. A driving license and car are essential.
