Northumberland County Council is looking for an experienced and energetic leader to manage the SEND Commissioning and Quality Assurance Team.
The team’s work focuses primarily upon the local authority’s duties under SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children and Families Act 2014; including Education Health & Care Plans and additional resources for vulnerable learners aged 0-25 years. The SEND team provides support and advice to learners, their families, schools and other partners.
You will have an excellent working knowledge of SEND processes and be able to develop the skills of others to deliver the new duties.
You will also represent the Local Authority in matters of SEND policy development on a local and regional basis and in complex or challenging cases which require specialist input to ensure learners’ needs are met.
