Further Information
The Federation of Longhorsley and Whalton C of E First Schools are looking to recruit inspiring and highly motivated class teachers, who have a clear understanding of what outstanding teaching and learning looks like. Although the posts will be based at one of the two schools for the vast majority of the time, there is an expectation that staff can teach at either school across the federation.

Our two small rural Church schools have exceptionally high expectations and high standards and offer a warm and supportive environment where you are challenged to be best that you can be for our children. Flexibility, enthusiasm and the willingness to go the extra mile are all essential qualities needed. As Church of England schools, the Christian ethos is central to the life of the school community.

The Governing Body is looking to appoint:

• a full time class teacher for September 2016. This will be on 1 year fixed term contract in a KS1 class
• a full time class teacher to cover a maternity leave beginning in the Autumn term. This will also be in a KS1 class

Applications from NQTs will be welcomed.

The successful applicant will:

• Have high expectations of children’s achievement, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
• Have an ability to create a highly stimulating and purposeful learning environment both within the classroom and outside in our school grounds
• Be able to support the Christian ethos of our schools
• Be able to continually reflect and improve upon their own practice in order to achieve excellence
• Be able to work effectively in a team
• Be prepared to be involved in the wider life of the school
The school can offer you:
• A supportive and welcoming community of children, staff and governors
• A positive learning environment to grow and work in
• A senior leadership team who value their staff
• Access to high quality CPD opportunities
• A fantastic place to work

Expertise in Computing (including the technical side!) would be advantageous, as would Sport or French.

Visits would be welcomed to the schools. Check out both of our websites too.
