Northumberland County Council is looking to recruit a Workshop Manager to lead the workshop team providing maintenance, servicing, repairs, testing of heavy and light vehicles and maintaining legislative records, be responsible for managing both the proposed class 4-5 and 7 MOT facility for private vehicles and taxi testing and ATF facility for HGV testing along with plant and operational equipment in a safe, efficient and economical manner.

To succeed in this role, you will be self-motivated and able to demonstrate excellent management skills and a full understanding of how a workshop operates. You should be an experienced communicator and leader whose enthusiasm and positive approach will encourage exceptional levels of productivity and customer care.

The successful candidate must have experience in mechanical repairs, experience in transport management system or similar fleet management systems and must hold an IOSH Health and Safety certificate as a minimum or be willing to work towards achieving the required qualification. Supervisory experience is also essential. An Engineering qualification is essential; at least city and guilds NVQ level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle and Light Vehicle repairs.
