Providing strategic procurement for Northumberland County Council, Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust and North Cumbria University Hospital Trust; the Shared Procurement Service is a groundbreaking collaboration between local authority and NHS. Its aim is to provide a sustainable and cost effective procurement service which help drive economic benefits and service quality for all stakeholder organisations.
Reporting into the Procurement Relationship Manager, the Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of a defined number of strategic procurement activities across the three stakeholder organisations.
As the role crosses both local authority and NHS, expertise in a specific area is desirable but not essential. However, the successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to draw both on a strong set of procurement skills and commercial business acumen, developed over a number of years working in the public sector.
