The Asylum Seeker & Refugee Team works to support families and individuals who are placed in Northumberland that have either been granted refugee status or are seeking asylum. The team provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable people to promote sustainable independent living. You role is to manage the day to day work of the team and lead on the Council’s interaction with Asylum Seekers & Refugees including clients, families and service providers.
You will oversee the development of options for and the delivery of outcomes and actions identified as a priority for the service and co-ordinate the work with external agencies and partners to ensure effective delivery of services.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with extensive recent and relevant post qualification experience in this area along with knowledge of the main procedural and practical issues of the service and an awareness of current inter/national laws, policies and procedures. You should also have experience of designing and drafting policies and procedures and an evidenced track record as a successful consultant/advisor.
This post involves travel throughout the county therefore you must be able to meet the transport requirements.
