We are looking for enthusiastic and pro-active staff to work with children and young people in the South East of the county in the first instance,who are migrants and refugees predominantly from Syria. They may have left their home country for very different reasons; they may have had very different experiences of education and to differing levels but we are looking to support the inclusion of these youngsters into local schools and colleges. We want to enable them to learn English, knowing that language proficiency opens doors to social acceptance, economic security and cultural understanding.
We wish to support them in developing their language, and particularly literacy skills in their home languages as we know that this plays a key role in their success at school.
It is expected that newly appointed staff will work alongside the current EAL teacher, accessing other support services when required. We are hoping to make early appointments.
