Permanent variable hours from 20 – 37 hours to start on 37 hours

Bellingham Partnership of Schools is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person who will provide Caretaking duties for our schools.

Experience of DIY and ability to carry out minor repairs, general maintenance and decorating is essential. You should have good communication skills and be able to liaise with both routine and planned contractors who may be on site.
You will be expected to carry out and record basic delivery checks, and help maintain Health and Safety as well as the School’s maintenance plan. The successful candidate would have to be able to work under direction but also use their own initiative. Onsite accommodation is optional for which a subsidised charge is payable, details on request.

Duties will include:
• Lock and unlock Bellingham School site and carry out security checks on the building and site
• Carry out and record basic checks and help maintain Health and Safety records
• Be able to use IT
• Supporting the maintenance of property, heating and grounds including liaising with contractors
• Monitor site stock and order supplies
• Experience of DIY and ability to carry out minor repairs, general maintenance and decorating competently
• Willingness to attend training course including Health and Safety
• Undertake cleaning duties whilst managing the team of school cleaners
• Flexible working hours to be discussed at interview but will run between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Previous experience would be beneficial but training will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to act as a key holder. This post is subject to a six month probationary period.
