Your role is to carry out investigations into empty privately owned properties and negotiate with their owners to bring them back into use, and to implement a scheme of landlord accreditation in order to bring privately owned properties up to standard, enabling them to be rented out to possible social housing and other tenants, so as to maximise the usage of the existing housing stock. You will assist in the development and review of the Council’s Scheme of Landlord Accreditation, and develop and maintain the Council’s relationship with Private Sector landlords.
You will have a good standard of education to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have effective IT skills and the ability to understand and develop the use of ITC to achieve work objectives. You will have a thorough knowledge and experience in the relevant context and service. Recent experience of working with private landlords is desirable. This post involves the need to occasionally travel to locations across the County, therefore you will need to meet the transport requirements. You will also be required to occasionally work outside normal working hours and to attend evening meetings.
This is a fixed term position for 12 months initially.
