Owing to the planned retirement of the current highly experienced and respected Deputy Head Teacher, we require someone to replace her at The Dales School.
(N.B. It should also be noted that the Head Teacher plans to retire at the end of the academic year 2017/18).

Brief Person Specification - Deputy Head Teacher

This post requires a personable middle management post holder seeking greater responsibility or a current diligent Deputy Head Teacher looking for a new challenge.

About the Role
The Dales is a specialist school providing for 89 pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health / Complex needs with a high percentage functioning with Autistic Spectrum Condition.
A current focus of the role is ensuring that the curriculum and organisation for learning across the school achieves positive outcomes for the school’s pupils by offering a creative curriculum which benefits from rigorous assessment and planning for individual children.

As a Deputy Head Teacher
• You will help to develop creative new approaches to learning throughout the school.
• You will share responsibility for safeguarding with the Head Teacher.
• You will support pupils with establishing positive behaviour for learning and develop whole school approaches in response to projected and current needs of our children.
• You will be a key player in maintaining and building on the ‘outstanding' reputation of the quality of the school’s provision.
• You will take over-all responsibility Appraisal and staff monitoring and professional development.
• You will assume other appropriate duties as identified by, and with, the Head Teacher
