The Governors of Heddon-on-the-Wall St. Andrew’s CE First School are seeking to appoint an outstanding, inspirational, ambitious, hardworking and committed Key Stage 2 Leader. Heddon St. Andrew’s is currently a one form entry first school which will become a primary school in September 2017. As we embark upon this next exciting step in our school journey we need a dedicated professional who shares our school values and aims and can promote our Christian ethos within the school and wider community.

The successful applicant will:
Be an excellent classroom practitioner who has high expectations of self and others and is passionate about enabling all children to achieve success;
Be well motivated and committed to providing a stimulating, happy and caring learning environment where all children are valued as unique individuals;
Have outstanding knowledge of curriculum content for Key Stage 1 and 2 coupled with the ability to lead others in securing successful learning for all children;
Offer a special blend of determination, innovative thinking, creative problem solving, resilience and humour.

Key Stage 2 Leader:

Lead on the development of an innovative and exciting curriculum for Key Stage 2;
Provide subject leadership appropriate to personal expertise;
Enable all children to achieve the highest possible standards across the Key Stage;
Work motivationally leading a team of staff;
Raise attainment in lower Key Stage 2 having a measurable impact upon children;
Be able to participate in the monitoring and evaluation of quality of teaching and standards;
Develop innovation in teaching and learning, motivating and inspiring both colleagues and children through outstanding teaching;
Excellent knowledge of statutory assessments.

We need someone who is:

Passionate about children’s learning, progress and well-being;
Experienced in working across Key Stage 2;
Committed to achieving high standards of learning and behaviour for all children;
Passionate about the development of a dynamic and inspiring curriculum, being able to lead and motivate all our children;
Excited and inspired about developing our new upper Key Stage 2;
Able to share in delivering our ethos and vision through our core Christian values.
