Northumberland County Council has an exciting opportunity for a European Funding Finance and Claims Officer as part of the Big Lottery Building Better Opportunities (BBO) programme in Northumberland.

The post will provide financial and project monitoring services to support Bridge, a partnership project to get Northumberland residents nearer to employment through a programme of personalised support and reaching out to vulnerable people in Northumberland communities.

Tasks will include preparation of programme level claims, advice and support relating to financial systems and grant regulations to ensure European Social Fund compliance, establishing and maintaining files to meet audit and data protection requirements, control and monitoring of budget codes, and processing of payments.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of financial processes and procedures, proven experience of European funding, particularly European Social Fund, and ability to work with a range of public and voluntary sector partners.

The post is open to secondment opportunities.

This post is funded by Big Lottery with the European Social Fund.
