To apply for this job you must be at least 21 years old. The Children’s Homes National Minimum Standards states: “All care staff are at least 18 years old, and staff who are given sole responsibility for children or a management role are at least 21 years old. Within this requirement no person works in a children’s home unless they are at least four years older than the oldest child accommodated.” (Standard 17.11)
Subsequently, this post is exempt under Section 5 of the Equality Act 2010.
Under the direction of the homes manager, you will be required to coordinate shifts and ensure the health and welfare of the young people
You must have a good general education demonstrating literacy and numeracy and be willing and able to undertake relevant training up to NVQ Level 2/3 Care Awards.
Evidence of work with children and adolescents in residential and/or field services is desirable.
You must be able to undertake sleep-in duties and work a shift rota
