Northumberland Pupil Referral Unit is a good short stay school aspiring to develop and improve further.
In June 2015 Ofsted judged us to be good in all areas.
Due to increased demand for places, the PRU is currently undergoing considerable refurbishment and building works facilitating expansion and increased capacity.
The children, staff and Management Committee at Northumberland PRU are looking to appoint two outstanding, inspirational, experienced, enthusiastic and resilient class teachers.
**Applicants should be primary trained, but may be teaching pupils from Yr2 – Yr9.
This role requires:
? An outstanding teacher with exceptional ability in creative differentiation;
personalising and individualising learning and approach to maximise
engagement, participation.
? The ability to create a safe, supportive, welcoming and nurturing learning
environment.
? The ability to plan and work with Teaching Assistants effectively and
collaboratively ensuring good communication, direction, mutual understanding
and shared purpose.
? Confident and effective use of assessment to plan, promote and accelerate
pupil progress.
? Familiarity with assessment and profiling of children and young people's
social, emotional and behavioural development.
? The ability to create a learning environment that supports, enriches,
stimulates, enhances and celebrates learning.
? The ability to work collaboratively and successfully with a wide range of
stakeholders and partners.
We are looking for someone who:
? Has knowledge, understanding and successful experience of a wide range of
behaviour management techniques and strategies to promote a positive,
caring classroom community that encourages student learning, positive peer
and teacher relationships and self-motivation.
? Has proven successful experience of working with ESMH pupils.
? Has high expectations of themselves and the children they teach.
? Has an innovative and creative approach to the curriculum that ensures pupil
engagement.
? Has outstanding classroom management creating a positive learning
environment in which children can succeed.
? Has the commitment to work alongside and value and respect the contribution
of parents and carers in the education of their children.
? Is able to contribute to wider school life.
? Has considerable resilience in the face of frequent challenging behaviour and
occasional hostility, animosity, and physical, emotional and personal abuse.
