Further Information
We are looking to recruit part-time Social Work Assistants (fixed term, 12 to 18 months contracts) to work 18.5 hours a week in our Family Support Team. The team provides supervised contact support to children and families across the county. Services are provided to children known to children's social care, including children with a disability and children in adoption placements.

Our experienced staff team and approved support carers undertake a variety of support packages and sessions, primarily supervised contact after school. All referrals are made to the service via the locality social care teams, Early Help Hubs and are in line with statute regulations, national standards, policy and procedure requirements.

As part of the team you will coordinate a number of contacts and placements, ensure reports and associated paperwork is uploaded and shared with relevant colleagues. You may be required to attend child protection meetings/reviews, strategy meetings and core groups on behalf of the service.

The service operates a duty system and you will be expected to handle all aspects of duty calls and enquiries.
You will work as part of a multi -disciplinary team to ensure safeguarding and service delivery is to a high standard.

The posts are currently based in Ashington in our renovated contact centre, however, contact is delivered is throughout the county and in community venues. The posts are subject to satisfactory references and DBS checks.
