An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Social Worker to work within Newcastle Youth Offending Team based at College Street Centre.

You would be part of an experienced and supportive team, providing high quality and effective youth justice services on a citywide basis.

You will have experience working with young people in the criminal justice system and of effective multi-agency partnership working.

The work is varied and there can be fluctuations in demand with periods of significant increase. We therefore require you to be flexible, enthusiastic and committed to working with both statutory partners and both local and national organisations to improve outcomes for young people.

You must have a relevant Social Work qualification such as a Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or CSS and HCPC registration.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.

For an informal discussion, please contact Sue Searles, Team Manager, or Paul Brownlee, Service Manager on 0191 2777377.

Apply online at www.northeastjobs.org.uk.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.
