Further Information
Northumberland’s Virtual School for Looked After Children is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated educational psychologist to fill a new full time role. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of psychological therapies, and have recent experience of working with children in care.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team of diverse professionals who are committed to improving education outcomes for looked after and previously looked after children aged 2 to 19, and in the case of learners with SEND to age 25. Education outcomes in Northumberland have improved consistently since the Virtual School opened in 2011 and it is expected that the new postholder will drive future improvement through delivery of a comprehensive training programme for Designated Teachers of Looked After Children and individual support to pupils themselves.

The post will fulfil the revised statutory duties relating to the emotional health and wellbeing of children in care introduced to guidance for Virtual Schools and the education achievement of looked after children by the Children and Social Work Act 2017.

Applications are welcomed for part time or job share.
