We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Social Care Assessment Officer to work in our Community Health and Social Care Direct team. Community Health and Social Care Direct is the first access point for adult social care across Newcastle upon Tyne.

The role will involve a rotation of tasks which will include, assessment, undertaking information gathering and making initial responses to safeguarding referrals and managing day to day enquiries offering support with crisis intervention as required. You will need to be organised to work in a busy and fast paced environment.

You will need to be flexible and may need to carry out a broad range of assessment and reviewing duties as required. You will work as part of a team, and will receive ongoing support and training. Previous recent experience in an adult social work team environment is desirable for this post.
