Northumberland is looking for a Planning Officer on a 12 month fixed term basis to provide professional support to Managers, Principal and Senior Officers in the preparation, monitoring and implementation of policies in the emerging Northumberland Local Plan.
In particular the post holder will provide support on the preparation of the Publication Version of the Northumberland Local Plan as well as in the run up to the examination of the Local Plan This will include work on the preparation and updating of the Local Plan evidence base. The post holder will also assist in policy implementation and monitoring and in the delivery of plans, projects and programmes relating to spatial planning and other place shaping Council Services across Northumberland.
It is essential that you possess a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent vocational qualification. You must also have the knowledge of the main operational, procedural and practical issues relating to plan making. You must be able to demonstrate experience in spatial planning, engaging effectively with others and building productive partnerships.
