The Council’s in-house Legal Services Team seek to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable contracts lawyer.

Your main responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and public sector agreements; advising on contractual disputes; assisting with the contractual implications of GDPR and liaising with Senior Officers and clients as appropriate.

The role will also involve advising on public procurement law and providing support and management throughout various procurement processes where required.
A qualified solicitor or barrister or fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives holding a current practising certificate, you will bring plenty of in-depth knowledge in the area of contracts. With relevant experience in these areas, you will advise and communicate with in-house clients and colleagues.

You will have an eye for detail and good organisational skills, which will enable you to carry a substantial workload. Flexible and innovative in your approach, you will help us to positively develop new areas of practice.
