The Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for care support worker posts based in Northumberland for the Short Term Support Service. Variable numbers of posts and hours available up to 21hrs.

STSS, recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by CQC provides care and rehabilitation to adults living in their own homes supporting people following hospital admission e.g. for a stroke, fall, fracture or surgery or who need immediate care to remain within their home environment.

The service employs both Care and Therapy staff working together to provide care, equipment and rehabilitation programmes to enable people to regain their independence.
The role

The Care Service operates on an early and late shift basis between the parameters of 7am – 10pm 365 days per year. Rotas operate on a 6 week rolling basis.

Main tasks include personal care, showering, medication, meals and practical support.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Experience is not essential as a full training programme operates for successful candidates. NVQ2 is desirable or a commitment to achieving the Care Certificate Award and undertake further training to meet the requirements of the post.
It is essential however that the successful candidate can meet the transport requirements of the post.

Care support worker posts are available across and between sites in Northumberland; South East, West and North.
