We are looking for 3 casual instructors to work as part of Newcastle City Councils Road Safety Team. They will support the delivery of road safety programmes primarily in schools and to work alongside established Road Safety Instructors.

You must be willing to work as part of a team delivering a range of road safety programmes to children and adults in Newcastle. The role requires the post holder to have excellent communication skills, have a flexible approach to work and enjoy working within schools and with members of the public.

The successful applicant should be able to drive and ride a bike with confidence and be a qualified Bikeability Instructor.

The post is for various hours per week with the majority of the work being during school term time with some weekend and school holiday work available.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.

For more information or for an informal chat please contact Cheryl Ford Lyddon on 0191 2115961.
