We currently have a vacancy for a 2 night Health and Social Care Officer within Newcastle City Council’s Care Services, the post will be based at Byker Lodge our short-term residential resource centre for older people. The centre provides dementia care.

This post involves working on the front-line providing care and support to some of the most vulnerable adults in the city. We are looking for applicants with a flexible approach who are committed to making a real difference to people’s lives.

Our staff work closely with health colleagues and must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting independence, health, wellbeing and choice to those who use our services.

Maintaining the dignity of service users must be a priority at all times and successful applicants must be able to deliver personal care with great sensitivity.

Being able to work night shifts on a three week rota basis, 8.45pm-7.45am (including weekends and Bank Holidays) is essential.
