The Service

The successful applicant will be one of 6 Transport Network Officers who report directly to a Senior Transport Network Officer working within a wider passenger transport team which consists of 14 staff altogether. The team are responsible for the planning, procurement and contract management of all passenger transport services delivered via taxi, minibus and coach operators. Transport Network Officers have the particular responsibility of organising transport for school children as well as social services passengers.

The role

The key responsibility is to put transport arrangements in place for a range of service users following assessment of eligibility. Ensure school transport is arranged in accordance with school transport policies whilst also ensuring best use of public money is also a key requirement. The ability to converse at ease with customers and suppliers and provide advice in accurate spoken and written English is essential for the post. It is also essential that the post holder has a good standard of numeracy.
