We are looking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic and reliable Facilities Supervisor to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Good communication and DIY skills are essential.
Caretaking experience in a school would be an advantage.

Proposed working hours:
• Monday to Thursday; 7am-12pm (incl of a 30 minute unpaid break) and 3pm-6pm.
• Friday; 7am-12pm (incl of a 30 minute unpaid break) and 3pm-5.30pm.

Simonside is a vibrant primary school in Newbiggin Hall area that serves a richly diverse community. We are looking for a Facilities Supervisor to ensure we maintain high standards of cleanliness and repair across our school site.

You will be responsible for the security of the premises, setting alarms, general health and safety issues relating to the building, as well as a range of porterage duties. There will be a responsibility for the supervision of cleaning staff. It is essential that you are capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying of equipment, materials and furniture and are able to climb ladders.

You will be expected to be able to deal with varying workloads and the cleaning of a defined area equating to a fifteen hour pitch. The building and grounds are large and spread out which means you must be good at managing your own time.

There will need to be a degree of flexibility around certain key events in the school calendar e.g. parent/ evenings, governing body meetings, Christmas and summer fairs etc. which will be arranged at the start of the academic year. You will be expected to be available to undertake lettings for the school when required.
