Newcastle City Council is seeking to appoint a Public Health Analyst to work within the Public Health team. The post will provide public health intelligence expertise to the Public Health Team, the wider Council, and to our partners.
You will provide input and advice into understanding the health needs of the population, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, and contributing to an understanding of the wider determinants of health.
A key focus will be to support key business processes such as needs assessment, equity audits and health impact assessments as well as the development of the Newcastle Future Needs Assessment. You will also have a key role in relation to the performance monitoring of public health programmes and outcomes and will work across departments and directorates to embed public health performance measures into corporate and directorate reporting requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. The role will be challenging and varied and you will need to be flexible, able to work autonomously, and priorities workload to meet conflicting deadline.
You will also need excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present complex public health intelligence to a wide range of audiences in ways that are accessible, meaningful and appropriate for use.
For an informal discussion please contact Claire Toas, Public Health Intelligence Specialist on 0191 2783914 or Lynda Seery, Public Health Specialist on 0191 2116704.
