HR / OD Graduate Trainee

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our HR/OD team on a 2 Year Fixed Term contract. The role will provide the individual with the opportunity to gain experience within the HR / OD function with a specific focus on the provision of support and advice on the interpretation and implementation of the County Council’s HR policies as well as guidance in relation to matters including grievances, discipline, performance management, absence management and structural change.

About the role

This is an exciting time for the organisation as we embark on a period of transformation and the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting managers, employees and partners through this period of transition and organisational change.

You will undertake and participate in project work in a variety of areas e.g. development of new policies and procedures, drafting special schemes and one off corporate projects, research particular topics and case laws as well as prepare reports and attend meetings as necessary.

About you

You will have a high degree of self-awareness and understand how to manage and balance competing priorities and needs, bringing people together to deliver shared objectives. Your tenacity and determination will help deliver the people and organisational development agenda, helping align our people to our business plans and strategic priorities.

You should be educated to Degree level or working towards a professional Human Resources Diploma qualification/full CIPD membership.

Successful applicants must be able to attend a full-day assessment centre on 24 June 2019 in Cramlington. Please note we are also currently recruiting to another HR / OD Graduate Trainee position within the team and applicants who are interested in applying for both posts may do so as we will be inviting successful applicants to take part in the same assessment centre process.
