This is a relief post, hours are as and when required.
We need an enthusiastic and reliable people to join us as Housing Support Assistants to cover day and night shifts. The posts would cover for sickness or other absence and the number of working hours available cannot be guaranteed.
You will help to make sure that the council’s temporary accommodation for homeless people is well run and meets the needs of service users. You will be the first point of contact for homeless people and your duties will include: providing information and support, monitoring the CCTV system, reception, cleaning, minor repairs and handling small amounts of money.
You should have a strong commitment to high standards of customer service and care. You need to be calm, confident, tactful and able to handle difficult situations. It is essential that you are capable of regular lifting and carrying of materials and furniture. The post involves working a shift pattern as the premises need to be staffed 24 hours a day.
