Further Information
Due to the retirement of the current postholder, an opportunity has arisen in our Social Care Direct Team for a Team Manager.

The team is well established with committed staff and a busy, fast paced working environment.

Social Care Direct is the first contact for adult social care in Newcastle and triaging, assessment, and crisis management are important roles. Prevention is key in all of this and the team is unique in being co-located with Community health and Reablement services.

Experience in multi-disciplinary working will be key in taking this work forwards, as is experience in working in a duty/ initial contact social work team.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.

For an informal discussion, please contact David Forster, Acting Service Manager (Prevention Services) on 0191 2116303.

Apply online at www.northeastjobs.org.uk.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.
