Working for the City Council in Newcastle isn’t like any other job. Everything we do has an impact on the people that live in our City, so our commitment, diligence and energy have to be second to none.

As a Commissioning and Procurement Team we have high aspirations including raising the quality of services commissioned in Newcastle and the experience of these services for the City’s residents. At the same time, we need to deliver ambitious change to keep to our financial targets. If you want to be part of our team, helping to improve people’s lives and transform the way we work together, we have two exciting opportunities.

We are seeking to recruit committed and creative individuals to join our Commissioning and Procurement Team, leading on Collaborative category areas across predominately social care and corporate / professional sub-categories.

A knowledge and understanding of commissioning, quality and performance assessment principles (including the role of monitoring and outcomes-based commissioning), procurement approaches across any of the sub-categories is desirable. A demonstration that you have contributed to large scale projects or collaborative commissioning and procurement exercises with councils and other public sector partners would be of benefit to these posts, in order to achieve better outcomes for Newcastle’s residents.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team which is focussed on improving services delivered to the residents of Newcastle.

For an informal discussion please contact Rhonda Eagle, Commissioner: Collaboration on 0191 2114949.
