22.5 hours per week, covering a 2-week working pattern including lone working on the Chefs days off.
Fixed term for 12 months

An opportunity exists for a suitable individual to work within the Facility Services Division as an Assistant Chef at Byker Lodge Resource Centre.

Typical duties within this post will be to assist the chef to provide a high-quality catering service to the client by assisting the Chef to organise, prepare and serve meals in accordance with the Caroline Walker Trust Standards and the City Council Customer Service Charter.

To assist in the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, strict adherence to the provisions of the Health and Safety Legislation and Food Hygiene Regulations and maintaining all associated records

It is essential that you can work flexible hours and capable of good relationships with others.

It is essential you hold an NVQ level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking. You must have a minimum 3 years’ experience within a catering environment, and delivering a consistent quality product is essential.

The interview process will include a practical skills test.
