Northumberland Youth Justice Service (YJS) is a multi disciplinary team that works with young people (aged 0-17) and their families with the aim to prevent offending and reoffending.   
The YJS are part of Northumberland Adolescent Services and we are closely aligned with the leaving care, accommodation, substance misuse, participation and  youth  services.  The YJS are seeking to appoint several experienced, enthusiastic and committed  Restorative  Justice  Workers to compliment our existing staff team (we are open to consider part-time applicants).

You will need to be highly motivated and passionate about supporting the victims of crime and working with young people and their families. You will understand and model the principles and values which underpin  restorative  justice  practice. Key functions include contacting victims of crime, providing impact statements to inform reports, assessments and interventions for young people. You will be required to facilitate  and participate in how young people repair the harm their have caused.

The work will also include  restorative  justice  conferences, delivering training to  Youth  Offender panels and undertake victim satisfaction questionnaires.  Other duties will include taking responsibility for reporting any safeguarding, changes in risk levels, or child protection concerns through the line management structure and follow departmental policies and procedures. You will also  contribute, as required to the core tasks of the service - including, duty, appropriate adults and occasional Court duty. 
You will be expected to record work using the child view database. You will also contribute to our Out-of-Court work including brief assessments and subsequent interventions. You will need to  supervise young people in accordance to National and Local guidelines. You will be  expected to attend team meetings and various other professional meetings when necessary.
