Due to the promotion of our current postholder, the Governing Body of Archibald First School are seeking to appoint a new Deputy Headteacher.

This Deputy Headteacher role will be a class teacher position with whole school responsibilities for the leadership and management of a key area. The position will be teaching in a Key Stage 1 or Lower Key Stage 2 class for the summer term and, on appointment, dedicated release time will be scheduled to fulfil management duties.

Archibald First School is looking to appoint a leader who:
• Has proven experience of leadership at a senior level within a primary school
• Has significant experience of monitoring and evaluating whole school performance and effectiveness, including teaching and learning and a key curriculum area
• Leads by example with integrity, positivity, resilience and clarity
• Is highly skilled and motivated
• Effectively manages their own behaviour and relationships with others to provide appropriate support and challenge
• Has experience of self-evaluation and has demonstrated commitment, engagement and involvement in the school development planning process.

The planned process for recruitment is that long listed candidates will be visited, at an agreed time, to observe their teaching of Literacy in their current school between the 27 January and 5 February. Short listed candidates will then be invited to the interview day for tasks and a formal interview.
This will be Monday 10 February.
