The Service
Children’s Services play a vital role in ensuring that residents in Northumberland are safe, well cared for, live well and learn. In order to support and develop these key services, it is essential to have well-maintained, modern and fit-for-purpose digital solutions. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced “systems person” to work closely with core team members within the service whilst being supported by a wider Information Services and Systems Team.

The role
Based in Children's Services, and working with colleagues in social care, education, and central I.T., the postholder will lead on the development of client information systems across the department. Providing direction to the work of the Systems Support service, he or she will enjoy a large amount of autonomy, with the scope to shape the role itself and the department’s strategy for developing its systems. As well as being a “systems person”, the attributes we are looking for are enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, with a sense of professional curiosity that helps turn ideas into reality.

We are offering:
- A salary of £37,890 (rising to £41,881)
- Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (or other pension scheme)
- A wide range of staff benefits including a competitive annual leave provision
- Flexible working arrangements
- Opportunities for continuous professional development

Essential requirements:
- Experience in the development and use of client information systems
- Working effectively with frontline staff and managers to support and guide their use of systems
- Flexibility and reliability with a planned and structured approach to project delivery
