Harry Watts Academy (A school for pupils with autism)
Learning Support Assistants to be class based as directed by the Head Teacher.
Hours of work to be Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 3.30 pm. The post is suitable for experienced Special Needs Assistants.
Required from Monday 2 November 2020, Learning Support Assistants with an interest in working with pupils with autism and associated disorders. All pupils have significant learning difficulties and complex needs. The vast majority of pupils are working below the standard of the national curriculum assessments and therefore need an adapted, personalised curriculum tailored to their individual needs.
Harry Watts Academy is a new school for pupils aged between five and sixteen years with autism. The school opened in September 2020 and is currently based in temporary accommodation at the Harraton Centre in Washington. It is anticipated that the school will relocate to its permanent home in Sunderland in February 2021. Harry Watts Academy is part of PROSPER Learning Trust (a multi academy trust).
