The Service 

NCC operates 5 children’s homes including a national secure children home with education. Overall the service employs 130 care staff and 30 support services staff across the 5 sites. Our Homes accommodate 25 young people aged 6 - 17, our main aim is to offer an exceptional family focused caring environment where children and young people can feel safe and excelled in their abilities and futures. 

The service is regularly inspected by Ofsted, currently our homes are rated as Outstanding or Good with outstanding leadership and management. It is crucial that everyone in our team is committed to the best safe care of our young people.  

The role 

Experience in a similar discipline is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. 

You must have a good general education and be willing and able to undertake relevant training up to NVQ Level 2/3 Care Awards.   

This post is subject to a shift pattern that includes weekend working.  

To apply for this job you must be at least 21 years old.  The Children’s Homes National Minimum Standards states: “All care staff are at least 18 years old, and staff who are given sole responsibility for children or a management role are at least 21 years old.  Within this requirement no person works in a children’s home unless they are at least four years older than the oldest child accommodated”. (Standard 17.11) 

Subsequently, this post is exempt under Section 5 of the Equality Act 2010. 

Kyloe House is a secure children’s home. 

You will lead and direct the work of the team to ensure standards are met and to ensure that the medical, cultural, religious and ethnic dietary needs of the young people are adequately met. 

We are offering:  

A starting salary of £19,312 (there is a further payment for unsociable hours and weekend working)

There is a further payment for Single Premium Rate for unsociable working hours including weekends.
