Further Information
At the Great North Museum we believe that inspiring and engaging access to science and culture can improve the life chances of children and young people. If you do too, then we’d love to meet you.

We are working towards even greater engagement with our communities and are looking for someone to join our award winning museum who can create inclusive, magical, fun engagement with families whilst creating cool, contemporary, must visit experiences for adults.

You will be working with the whole Great North Museum team to create, devise and deliver our events programme, bringing your own original ideas but also the creative confidence to work with other artist and content producers and supporting academic researchers to share their cutting edge research with our audiences.

When it comes to our exhibitions, creative input is welcome from the whole team. This role will also need to bring strong project management experience to oversee the whole practical process of exhibition creation and delivery. If you can demonstrate excellent project management and are quick to learn, then no exhibition experience is required – we can teach you what you need to know.

Seeking out and nurturing relationships will be really important to this role and you will need to be a confident and experienced communicator, getting the best out our the team, working with other creatives, supporting academics and working closely with colleagues in regional and national museums.

If you share our ethos of putting the audience first, are a creative, self-starter, who believes culture can do good things for society, happy to work under your own initiative with confident interpersonal skills and experience of delivering public engagement in any setting, we are waiting to hear from you!
