The role
As a Senior Programme Officer for strategic transport, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of transport policy for Northumberland County Council. These are exciting times for the county as we continue to develop a range of projects across rail, bus, road and cycle and this role will play a major part in developing these projects. You will be part of the team that develops, prepares, monitors and reviews transport policies for Northumberland, and you will take the lead on particular tasks. Therefore, the successful candidate will have a good all-round knowledge of UK transport policy. You will also work with partners, both internal and external, to attract funding for transport projects, so excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills are required.
