The Service
Northumberland County Council’s Corporate Fraud Team is looking for an Administration Assistant to join our team. This is a busy role, with the team dealing with over 1000 referrals per year from various sources. The role itself can be demanding and requires excellent organisational skills. You will be joining a team of 4 as the sole admin assistant so it requires someone that works well under pressure and also with a high degree of accuracy. We would like someone with previous admin experience of working in a busy office, someone with an enthusiastic and positive attitude, have excellent communications skill and most of all to be a team player. You will be responsible for organising your tasks in the most effective and efficient way possible and will report directly to the Corporate Fraud Manager.   The role To assist with the day to day administration of the Corporate Fraud Team in accordance with Government Legislation and Council Policy and Procedures. To manage referrals from all sources and set up fraud files on our internal fraud management system Deal with public enquiries via the fraud hotline and fraud email address Handle incoming correspondence from various sources both internal and external. Attend and take minutes in team meetings for distribution. To act as our Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for DWP enquiries and referrals. Where required, to accompany Investigators on visits to customers, external partners, etc. To transcribe recorded interviews under caution

Essential requirements:
- Must be IT literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Awareness of GDPR and Data Protection Act
- Be able to work as part of a team
