Further Information
Newcastle City Council are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Team Manager to join our Foster a Future Fostering Service.

The service is experiencing a period of growth and as one of 3 Fostering Team managers, you will be expected to supervise and oversee a busy team of social workers with the objective of providing an effective, high quality service to foster carers, children and partners.

The role includes management of the assessment and support of both Mainstream carers and Connected Persons and we are currently developing our support services to Special Guardians. We are therefore looking for candidates who can demonstrate impeccable knowledge of Fostering Minimum Standards, Safeguarding and Fostering Legislation and Care Planning Regulations.
Our Fostering Team Managers have a key role in supporting the Registered Manager and Service Manager in the continuous development of the service and may be given responsibility for specialist service areas and the delivery of key service targets and objectives.
Experience of managing and supervising social workers would be highly desirable although applications would be welcomed from fostering senior practitioners and practice teachers who are interested in career progression.

To apply for this post, you must have a relevant social work qualification, such as Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, and current Social Work England registration. A relevant management qualification or a commitment to work towards one is essential.

If you are interested in this post and would like some further information before applying, please email deborah.anderson@newcastle.gov.uk with your preferred contact number and someone from the management team will get back to you.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.

We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.
