We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Deprivation of Liberty Signatory acting on behalf of the Local Authority as Supervisory Body. The successful applicant will join a passionate, caring and ambitious team determined to make a meaningful difference to the lives of the people of Newcastle.
You will have a Social Work qualification (MA or BA in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You must be able to work as part of a team as well as able to work autonomously. Provide support to partners, & colleagues in respect of DoLS. Whilst it is preferable that you have experience or knowledge of the signatory role training and support will also be provided.
You must be a qualified Best Interest Assessor under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and have relevant practice experience. The postholder will also be expected to assist in planning the implementation of the forthcoming Liberty Protection Safeguards in April 2022. This is an ideal post to for someone looking to further develop their career in Social Work and assist in shaping how we respond to new legislation to ensure Human Rights are upheld.

Ongoing support and supervision will be provided by a Safeguarding Adults Manager.
