Following a review of, and investment in SEND provision within Newcastle City Council an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Preparation for Adulthood Lead, working as a key part of a new SEND structure for Newcastle, investing in the support and services we offer to children and young people.

You will use your knowledge and experience of working with young people aged 14-25 with SEND, alongside your excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice to develop policies and processes which deliver good outcomes for children, young people and their families, ensuring the City Council meets its statutory responsibilities in this area.

Managing a small team of Caseworkers, you will provide strong leadership and guidance and continually seek to develop skills and experiences within your team with an understanding and commitment to shared learning and a collaborative approach to work.

You will use your excellent communication and organisational skills to work across sectors, establishing and developing effective professional relationships, and dealing with challenges in a constructive and proactive way always maintaining the focus on trying to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
