Further Information
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Northumberland County Council for a highly motivated Senior Performance & Development Officer, in our Children’s service, working alongside our partner agencies.

Your role will lead on the development of data collections and analysis in relation to the performance of early help and special educational needs services. You will provide direction to a small team, and will enjoy a large amount of autonomy, but with the support of comprehensive on the job training with the Council.

The previous post holder who has recently been promoted had this to say: ‘’Early Help is a constantly evolving area of the service, meaning that the performance information we provide is always being reviewed and improved.  Having the use of data visualisation tools (Tableau) allows professional development in exciting new products.  Being directly involved in the payments by results claims for the successful, Supporting Families Programme is really satisfying!’’

You will enjoy competitive salary rates of £32,910 - £36,922, and exclusive Northumberland County Council benefits such as one of the top UK pensions in the Local Government Pension Scheme, flexible working arrangements and exciting opportunities for continuous professional development.

Your typical year could see you leading on troubled families claims, presenting data to early help performance clinics, participating in bid preparation, and using data to identify clients who could benefit from additional support. As well as being a “data person”, the attributes you should possess are tenacity, a can-do attitude, with a sense of professional curiosity that helps turn ideas into reality. You will be required to have experience in data analysis, understanding of how client data bases work, knowledge of the principles of performance management, and experience of working effectively with managers and frontline staff.

You will be supported by our friendly experienced team primarily based in our main office at Morpeth County Hall.
