At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of young people and our communities. Ensuring successful transition is a key priority for the whole trust; our key vision is to develop successful learners from cradle to career and for some of our most vulnerable pupils it is crucial that the transition experience works for them.

Benfield is an inclusive school, and we acknowledge the rich, cultural diversity of our community in the east end of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our school continues to grow and we are looking forward to admitting above our PAN of 207 in September and provide a thriving learning environment for all students.

We are excited about this post as it provides an opportunity to build further upon our transition offer by working with identified vulnerable students in Years 7 and 8 and develop the thinking about the KS3 curriculum and how teaching and learning supports all learners here in school.

The ideal candidate will have initiative, commitment and the courage to champion and challenge on behalf of our most vulnerable learners. A successful track record as a teacher that demonstrates high quality teaching and learning and positive impact on learner outcomes, thorough understanding of how young people learn and the core features of an effective curriculum are essential. We are looking for a collaborative colleague who has high expectations for all students and demonstrates behaviours consistent with the Trust’s values: aspirational, collaborative, inclusive, innovative, responsible. Understanding of how young people learn at KS2 or previous experience of Primary teaching will be desirable to be successful in this post.

In return we offer:
•a thriving school community on a modernised site with extensive sporting facilities
•the benefits of working in a highly collaborative multi academy trust aiming to provide a seamless education from 2-19
•excellent personal career development as the trust takes forward its ambition to grow.
