The Service

The Learning and Skills Service delivers employment and skills support to residents across Northumberland Our ambition remains stronger than ever – we want every resident of Northumberland to have the opportunity to develop skills that can help them to retrain, find employment, advance their career or try out something new.

 The role

Due to the expansion of employment contracts delivered within the service, an opportunity has arisen for an additional Business and Integration Manager, as the current post holder will be managing the new DWP Restart programme from May 2021. The additional position is fixed-term until March 31st, 2023 and you will have responsibility for the management of programmes including the DWP Work and Health Programme and DWP JETS Programme.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective performance, productivity, and the delivery of high-quality services to participants working in line with agreed national programme standards. On a day-to-day basis, you will act as the key interface with external Prime Providers and will work closely with Supply Chain Managers building professional and successful relationships. The contracts delivered within the service are commercial in nature and you will have responsibility for timely reporting of key financial performance indicators (KPI's) using CRM and MI systems, identifying performance and quality issues and you will proactively drive performance to meet challenging KPIs. It is therefore essential that you have experience in managing performance improvement in an operational delivery business environment and can demonstrate exemplary attention to detail, good time management skills, and the ability to prioritise whilst meeting deadlines and a can-do attitude. The service works across the full Northumberland area and you should have a good understanding of Northumberland including challenges, opportunities and local services that can support the successful delivery of employment programmes to residents and jobseekers.
