7.50 hours per week, Term time plus 3 training days as directed by the school.
Hours of work will be Monday – Friday 11.45 am – 1.15 pm (7.5 hours per week), term time + 3 training days.

Posts will be based at either Site 1 on Linhope Road, Site 2 on West Denton Way. Training and support will be provided to the successful applicants.

Thomas Bewick School are looking for Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants to join the friendly team of staff providing support / care to children and young people during the midday break.

Thomas Bewick is a successful specialist school for pupils with autism aged between three and nineteen years. Ofsted reported the school as being ‘good’ in April 2016.
Candidates must have experience of working with, or caring for, children and be able to:
• establish positive relationships with children;
• communicate with children in a way that they can understand and relate to;
• engage and motivate children to join in organised play activities;
• deal with any challenging behaviour in a patient, quiet manner;
• be sensitive to the differing needs of children;
• work effectively as part of a team.

Prosper Learning Trust was established in January 2018 with Newcastle Bridges School and Mary Astell Academy. Thomas Bewick School joined in 2019 and Harry Watts Academy opened in September 2020. We are striving to further build collaboration across the schools and grow as a Multi Academy Trust, whilst continuing to strengthen our relationships with schools outside the MAT for the benefit of our pupils.
