We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced project officer or project manager to specifically coordinate and deliver the exciting new Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme funded by the Department for Education. The programme will provide holiday activities and food for children eligible for free school meals (5 -16 year old) for 6 weeks of the school holiday starting from Easter 2021. This is a fixed term position until May 2023.
The role will require engagement with existing and potential holiday club providers including the voluntary sector to establish the supply of activities and food provision as well as identify any gap in provision in areas of high prevalence of eligible families. The role requires the officer to help design, commission and monitor the programme.
The appointed person will need to have experience of delivering similar projects and government grant funding processes and procedures working with internal and external stakeholders and key partners to coordinate a programmes of activities and allocate grants engaging with children from disadvantaged backgrounds good communication skills- written and verbal knowledge or experience of using Microsoft Office and Google suite.
You will be an outstanding individual who thrives in taking an innovative approach to a range of situations:
- setting up a partnership steering group
- mapping out holiday provision
- coordinating the distribution of the funding and assuring all due diligence mechanisms are in place
- setting up monitoring process and collating monitoring information on the deliverables of the programme and submitting the returns to the DfE
- maximising partnership working
- supporting providers to deliver high quality programme in line with the DfE programme's curriculum expectations
- working effectively with primary, secondary schools, Youth Development service and third sector providers of holiday activities provision
- attending DfE meetings in relation to the HAF programme
